Ben Simmons Makes Significant Rehab Progress on Broken Right Foot

On the verge of returning?

Last fall, the Philadelphia 76ers caught a major injury bug with their co-franchise player, Ben Simmons. The no. overall pick the draft, obtained the Kevin Durant injury – suffering a broken foot. Originally, many were under the impression that LeBron James and Rich Paul were advising Simmons to sit out the season, which requires more than 6 months to fully recover.

However, during a team practice, Ben hit the court without his walking boot, to take free-throw shots in a regular shoe for the first since his surgery nearly nine weeks ago. While he obviously won’t return to the court this month, Joel Embiid was on hand to ask Simmons directly how he felt walking on his leg after the Jones fracture, and felt intrigued about his basketball brother’s immediate future.

With team working Dario Saric and Ersan Ilyasova into their main rotation as stretch-fours, we’re assuming Philly won’t be in any rush to bring back their star player. Let us know in the comments if you think Simmons should just take things slower and rest the entire year.
