Bills Trade Sammy Watkins to Rams, Jordan Matthews Acquired From Eagles

The Buffalo Bills engaged in two separate deals for players and picks on Friday, with some big names going out and others coming in.

In one deal, the Bills sent Sammy Watkins and a 2018 sixth-round pick to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for a 2018 second-round pick and cornerback E.J. Gaines. In a second deal, Buffalo also acquired Jordan Matthews and a 2018 third-round pick from the Philadelphia Eagles for cornerback Ronald Darby.

The deals pretty much ensure the Bills are pretty much moving on to a rebuild project, considering their No. 1 cornerback and wide receiver options were sent packing for future draft picks.

They’ll be stacked for next year’s draft, though.

Buffalo will own two picks in the first, second and third rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft, ensuring them some depth and young options for the future.
