Blake Griffin Is Out For Remainder of NBA Playoffs With Toe Injury

You know the theme of the Los Angeles Clippers in the post-season. They make the playoffs. Players on the team get injured. They get bounced out of the playoffs early.

Lob City will be without Blake Friffin for the remainder of the playoffs, thanks to a toe injury that occurred in the first half of Friday’s game (that he did not come back from). The injury happened to the plantar plate in his right big toe and will be looked at by a foot specialist when the team returns to Los Angeles for the series.

This isn’t the first time this year that Griffin has been injured. He missed significant time earlier this season after having surgery in his right knee.

He ends his season averaging 21.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game.

Without Blake, the Clips will have to rely on Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan (as well as their role players) to step up in his place, something they did when they rallied late in the fourth quarter last night to win a crucial game against the Utah Jazz on the road. Griffin was L.A.’s leading scorer and second in rebounding for the year, so that’s a lot of production they’re going to have to make up.

Has Blake played his last game for the Clippers?
