Cardinals Running Back David Johnson Is Out Indefinitely with Dislocated Wrist

Did you pick up David Johnson as a top pick in your NFL fantasy team? If you did, you might be sick at the news coming out of Arizona this week.

The star running back has most likely dislocated his wrist and will most likely require surgery, putting his timeframe to be out at about 8-10 weeks and straight to injury reserve.

The Cardinals are currently getting the advice of a second doctor before proceeding.

Johnson suffered the injury on a 24-yard catch in the third quarter of Sunday’s 35-23 loss to the Detroit Lions, according to Coach Bruce Arians, but the full diagnosis will come tomorrow afternoon. For now, Andre Ellington and Kerwynn Williams will be most likely to take over the role in the short term.

UPDATE: Johnson will officially have surgery this week and won’t be eligible to return until at least Week 8 after going on injury reserve.
