Carmelo Anthony Finally Accepts Bench Role in Houston

Those “coming off the bench” comments and laughter is really going to haunt Carmelo Anthony for the rest of the season and maybe throughout his career, but it’s a big indictment on how things have changed in one season.

Clearly, he didn’t want to do it when he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, yet now is okay with doing it for the Houston Rockets.

In a sit-down with ESPN, ‘Melo spoke on how he has to adjust to his role on the Rockets this season and how he had conversations with management before joining the team. Now, he has to accept his role and adhere to it. At the end of the day, he just wants to win.

He also talked about how he learned from his experience in OKC, his time with Coach Mike D’Antoni in New York and more. Watch it all above.

As Houston plays the New Orleans Pelicans tonight, ‘Melo will be coming off the bench.
