Carmelo Anthony’s Stance on Coming Off the Bench is A Lot Different in Houston

For a majority of Carmelo Anthony’s tenure in Oklahoma City, we saw push back from him in terms of being a sixth man or helping the team with a role coming off the bench. To ‘Melo, it was absolutely out of the question to take a role like that with the team, especially with his stature or level of play.

It seems like he’s had a change of heart (possibly after talking to his good buddy Chris Paul?) because that tune has changed now that he’s signed with the Rockets.

when asked about a bunch role in Houston, this is what he said:

“At the end of the day, we’re all going to camp to figure out what works in order for this team to try to win a championship. If that time comes, we’ll have that conversation. My goal is to go into training camp, be the best player I can be, be in the best shape I can be and do what I have to do to help this team get over the hump and win a championship. That’s all it is. All the questions of coming off the bench, I don’t want to answer those questions at the end of the day. Whatever I have to do to help this team win a championship, that’s what’s going to be done.”

Someone better inform him that the Golden State Warriors are winning the championship and nothing he does will be enough to help his team win a ring.

We’ll find out how this pans out as the season moves forward.
