Celtics Close Out Bulls To Eliminate Them from First Round of NBA Playoffs

All the Chicago Bulls had to do was win two games. That’s it. And three of the last five games were going to be at the United Center in Chi-town. But with Rajon Rondo out with a broken thumb, the series quickly shifted in the direction of the No. 1 seeded Boston Celtics.

On Friday night, Boston went into the United Center and put their foot on the Bulls’ neck.

On the eve of Isaiah Thomas‘ sister’s funeral, the troops rallied and pulled out the win for him and his sister Chyna. It was a very emotional night on the road.

But the Celtics responded. They pretty much took control of the game from the jump and never looked back. Every one of their starters was in double digits. Gerald Green had 16 points and a few clutch three-pointers. Avery Bradley dropped points on them. Thomas and Al Horford both finished with 12 points and a few highlights.

Meanwhile, on the Bulls side of things, a hurt Jimmy Butler still managed to score 23 after leaving the game with an injury. Dwyane Wade only had 2 points on the night. That’s not the type of performance that’s going to get the job done in the playoffs.

Butler wants to be back in Chicago and wants Bulls to bring Rondo Back

The Celtics will now face the Washington Wizards in the second round.

FINAL: BOS 105 | CHI 83
