From the San Francisco 49ers to the New York Jets?

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Colin Kaepernick wants out of San Francisco and is privately seeking a trade from the 49ers to the NY Jets. Even with the team just introducing head coach Chip Kelly to the team three weeks ago, the former star quarterback still feels change is necessary for his career to be resurrected. San Francisco even went out of their way to bench the 28-year-old on his birthday last fall, which we’re assuming didn’t go over with him.

At the moment, Kaepernick is still owed $100 million dollars over five more years by the 49ers – if he decides to remain in the Bay Area. Fresh off surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb, as well as a procedure on his left knee, New York is intrigued at the idea of adding the dynamic quarterback to the Todd Bowles team. However, GM Mike Maccagnan is still wanting to reevaluate things, with Ryan Fitzpatrick helping lead them to a 10-win season last year.
