CHIP relocates to the Bay Area

The game of musical chairs between coaches this NFL season has finally come to an end for two sides. The San Francisco 49ers have extended their job to Chip Kelly and come to agreements with the former Philadelphia Eagles coach to take the helm of their team in 2016.

Kelly now becomes the 20th coach in the storied franchise’s history, coming over from Philly after going 26-21 with three seasons under the Eagles.

The Niners are looking to turn around their organization after going a disappointing 5-11 with Jim Tomsula, who took over for a departed Jim Harbaugh that left for the Michigan University coaching position in 2014.

Kelly brings his offensive schemes to a team that struggled for much of last year, juggling between quarterbacks and a depleted running backs situation. With the Oakland Raiders being the Bay Area team on the come up, San Francisco are looking to get back to their playoff ways and back at the top of the NFC with Chip at the helm.
