David Stern Says Medical Marijuana Should Be Allowed in NBA

Some of you may not remember NBA Commissioner David Stern, but just know that he made it worse for players who liked to indulge in recreational activities during his tenure in the league. He enforced stricter policies, penalties and cracked down on drug use.

So what’s his take in 2017? It’s completely different.

During this Al Harrington documentary, The Concept of Cannabis with UNINTERRUPTED, Stern says the league should change the rules on medical marijuana. He says it should be under the care of a team doctor, but if it helps with aches and pains, it should be something the league should look into. He even went a step further and said that if a player’s state has made recreational marijuana legal, they should be able to consume it without getting in trouble.

Harrington’s documentary tells his story about how he became a weed entrepreneur, discovering CBD’s after a botched knee surgery. Now he owns a grow op in Oregon, an indoor facility in Detroit and operates from multiple states.

It’s actually a dope watch if you were wondering what Big Al is up to these days.

Note: The conversation with the commissioner starts around the 6:45
