Dejounte Murray Out Indefinitely for Spurs with Torn ACL

The San Antonio Spurs suffered a massive blow to their backcourt last night when Dejounte Murray went down with a serious injury against the Houston Rockets in preseason.

On a fast break, Murray was driving to the hook with a burst of speed past James Harden and landed his foot a little too hard, immediately crashing to the floor face down. As soon as he took a tumble, you knew it was serious.

After tests were done, the Spurs medical staff concluded that he suffered a torn ACL and is out indefinitely for the team.

This is a big hit to the squad considering that Lonnie Walker IV was also hit with injury earlier this preseason and was confirmed to have a right medial meniscus tear after MRI’s were performed on his knee.

With Tony Parker gone and Manu Ginobli retired, this depletes the backcourt for San Antonio, with DeMar DeRozan now having to carry the load.

It’s next man up for Coach Gregg Popovich.
