Derrick Rose Tears ACL, Out For The Season

Now What?

Earlier today in the last minutes of the 4th quarter, Bulls guard Derrick Rose tore his ACL during game 1 against the 76ers. With an ACL tear, Rose could possibly miss the start of next season and his return to basketball could take up to 9 months with this type of injury. Rose who had been struggling with a host of injuries the entire season such as back spasms, a pulled groin and foot injuries; missed 39 of 66 regular season games for the Bulls. This is an extremely detrimental blow to Chicago as their chances of winning a title this year are now slim to none. Without Rose in the regular season, the Bulls went 18-9 and with Rose they went 32-7. Playing without Rose in the regular season gave guards C.J. Watson and John Lucas III confidence as the Bulls were still able to win without Rose, but now we will see if that experience carries on through the playoffs.

Bulls currently lead the series against the 76ers 1-0 and game 2 is scheduled for this Tuesday night at 8:00 PM (ET).
