The Houston Texans started the year with Tom Savage under helm. Then when that experiment failed miserably, they turned to a rookie by the name of DeShaun Watson to carry the squad. Guess what happened? He started playing lights out and resurrected that struggling offense after their defense suffered some big injuries this season (get well soon J.J Watt).
Now, the good times have come an end after we all just witnessed Watson throw for 402 yards, 4 touchdowns (and 3 interceptions) against the Seattle Seahawks defense last Sunday.
Ian Rappaport of NFL.com first reported Watson suffered a non-contact injury at practice today, which the Texans feared it might be an ACL injury. That has now been confirmed. That means that their star rookie QB will need surgery and be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
Sources: #Texans QB fear Deshaun Watson suffered a torn ACL in practice today. A non-contact injury. MRI coming to confirm. Awful, awful.

Deshaun Watson went down on a normal drill, running a read option, on a grass field, per source. Didn’t yell, trainers took him off field.

That’s tough for Houston, who finally found a stud quarterback to make the offensive side of the ball very exciting. Watson brought the energy back in H-Town and gave the team hopes for a promising future.
Watson will end the year with 1,699 yards, 10 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.
