Ezekiel Elliott Denied Injunction, Will Be Suspended Effective Immediately

Ezekiel Elliott, the NFLPA and the NFL have been involved in a back-and-forth battle between courts about what to do with his 6-game suspension for months now. But Elliott’s side has suffered a massive blow.

After hearing arguments from both sides yesterday, U.S. District Judge Katherine Polk Failla denied a request for a preliminary injunction, giving the NFL the win this time. This means that pending a 24-hour appeal option, Elliott will be suspended immediately.

‘Zeke would not be able to play until December 17, when the Dallas Cowboys play the the Oakland Raiders.

The NFLPA and Elliott can appeal the decision in the U.S. Court of Appeals, 2nd Circuit and could be granted a stay to continue playing while the appeals process goes through court, but at this point, it’s very unlikely.

We’ll see how this plays out for the rest of the week, though it seems like this is bad news for the Cowboys and Elliott. It might be the end of the fight.
