FOX Lands Thursday Night Football Thanks to New 5-Year Deal with NFL

If you got used to watching Thursday Night Football on CBS and NBC, you’re going to have to flip the channel next season because the NFL and FOX have just locked up a 5-year deal. The network will now broadcast 11 games between Weeks 4-15 of the season, not including the annual Thanksgiving game, which will still live on NBC.

The massive deal is valued at $550 million annually.

It’s also bigger than the original deal CBS and NBC had in place, which originally brought eight games to CBS and then a split of five and five to CBS/NBC last season.

This will surely bring a massive boost to FOX ratings on that night, where other networks have struggled. CBS can still recoup their scripted lineup, but they will still be competing for a share of the audience football brings.
