Highlights from DeMarcus Cousins’ New Orleans Pelicans Debut

All eyes were on DeMarcus Cousins last night, considering it was his first game with the New Orleans Pelicans since his trade from the Sacramento Kings. The All-Star center was facing the solid Houston Rockets squad, who had just acquired Lou Williams from a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers as well.

And things went well for both players. Except Lou got the W.

Boogie dropped a double double in his first game in a Pels jersey, notching down 14 rebounds and scoring 27 points. Anthony Davis almost had a double double too, missing it by a rebound with 9 boards and 29 points. Unfortunately, only Omar Casspi provided a spark besides the twin towers, and he ended up getting injured and will be sidelined for four weeks with a broken thumb.

Meanwhile, Lou Will snapped off the bench for the Rockets, scoring 27 and leading all team scorers. James Harden only had 13 points on the game, but dished out 14 assists.

Even with the loss, it’s pretty clear the era of Boogie and AD has begun.
