Isaiah Thomas Reportedly Out for Cavs Until 2018 All-Star Break

D-Rose & Calderón. . .

With the Kyrie Irving trade saga finally over, the Cleveland Cavaliers can finally focus on the team they have at hand for their 2018 campaign. They acquired Isaiah Thomas in a blockbuster trade from the Boston Celtics, that was prolonged for two weeks before an actual signature.

Now, reports have surfaced (or to justify forcing Boston into giving up a 2020 pick), that Thomas may miss half the season. With his hip still not one hundred percent, those within the Cavaliers training staff don’t expect him to be ready until the All-Star break in mid-February.

During the off-season, Cleveland made point guard signings of José Calderón and Derrick Rose, who’s set to be their starter in the foreseeable future. While Cavs fans remain optimistic regarding Rose’s health stability over the last two seasons, it’ll be interesting to see how this team coincides with each other leading up to the playoffs arrive. We expect Cleveland to be a top 4-seed by default, but their push through the Eastern Conference won’t be a cakewalk like many are expecting.

Take a look at the full report on his injury below.

Thomas’ recovery and health status:

“No one is willing to put a timeline on when Thomas might return to the court. The fact he isn’t running yet certainly is not a good sign. One source with experience dealing with the type of hip problems Thomas is facing predicted it could be January or even the All-Star break before Thomas returns to game action. That doesn’t leave much time for a new player to establish chemistry and rhythm with a team trying to compete for a championship.”
