This weekend, we’ve seen some of the most controversial moments in the history of Twitter. From Donald Trump attacking athletes, making a direct threat to North Korea, and LeBron James even calling the President a “bum” – the weekend has been an interesting one, to say the least.
After watching the craziness of the last 48 hours, J. Cole returned to social media and shared his current thoughts in a lengthy thread. Over the past year, he’s worked closely with Kaepernick and bluntly told the masses in his brief public address, “Stop watching football all together.”
If the silent protesting of kneeling isn’t getting a point across, he feels that denying the NFL attention and their money would do more damage to the brand than anything. Given the significant ratings decline and poor attendance for regular season games over the last two years, Jermaine’s viral comments may gain notice from league sponsors and owners if revenue eventually drops.
