Kevin Durant Praises LeBron James’ Move to Los Angeles

Considering he pulled the same type of decision when he signed with the Golden State Warriors, Kevin Durant knows what it’s like to go against the grain and leave a beloved city to make a power move for your own embetterment.

In talking to Variety’s Sports and Entertainment Breakfast earlier this week, he was asked about LeBron James signing with the Los Angeles Lakers and KD had nothing but good things about his fellow basketball compatriot:

“I think really great ones like LeBron have the opportunity to pick both. Have a great basketball environment, but also live in a place to help his business advance. He’s earned that right to make those decisions. I’m excited he took advantage of this opportunity to be in L.A. and play for the Lakers. It’s great that he decided to take his career to the next step. To be here in L.A. is only good for him and for us basketball players to see that.”

James and his partner Maverick Carter have been looking to get into more of the entertainment side of their SpringHill Entertainment business, as well as their series UNINTERRUPTED and Los Angeles makes the perfect sense for both of them to be in for future dealings. Not to mention movies, television and everything else.

Kevin and LBJ stirred up rumors when they went to eat dinner together during ESPY’s week in L.A., as people have theorized Durant could sign with the Lake Show after his stint with Golden State is done.

For now, he’s happy in Oakland winning championships with his team.

As far as King James wearing a Lakers jersey, apparently not everyone in Southern California is too thrilled with that, because murals with him in it keep getting vandalized.

It’ll be an interesting season in Los Angeles this year.
