For Golden State Warriors fans who may have been a bit nervous last night because of all of the commotion going on in the league, you can rest easy. The Splash Brothers will not be broken up for the foreseeable future.
Klay Thompson has officially signed a 5-year, $190 million contract with the team and isn’t going anywhere. The news was announced today, even though most speculated it would happen.
And, yes, Klay Thompson is getting the five-year, $190 max from Golden State, sources reiterate. A done deal even before today

When the Warriors traded for D’Angelo Russell, some asked how he would fit in with the Splash Brothers (especially on defense), but considering Thompson will be injured for a good portion of the season, D-Lo will be a good replacement.
All of the in’s and out’s will be figured out later on, as Klay is eased into the lineup.
Either way, Russell gives Golden State another ball handler that can take the burden off Steph Curry, who might be used in the Klay role next season. You know, coming off picks, moving without the ball, etc.
Not to mention, Draymond Green is still on the team. For now.
