We are witnessing the end of an era.

As tough a pill as it is to swallow for Lakers fans, it must be 100x harder for Kobe Bryant. The past two seasons, he’s seen very little play thanks to injuries and there’s no guarantee that he’ll stay healthy throughout the course of this season either.

During his time off, Kobe decided to record some of his life for the Showtime documentary Kobe Bryant’s Muse, which will show the process of his rehabilitation while he was sidelined, as well as where his mentality and drive came from. It’s more of an inner look at Kobe during the worst time in Lakers history.

He serves as executive producer for the doc, but he claims it’s more in the title. He only wants to let fans in and give them a rare look at what he’s all about. Especially now that his career is dwindling to the last of it, he wanted to make sure people understood what it took to get to this point.

As you may remember from a recent ESPN interview, Kobe is scared to death for life after basketball, but it seems like he’s willing to figure it out and make the necessary moves to start his next chapter in life. It’s the only thing he can do. Earlier this year, he announced a venture with BodyArmor, a sports energy drink that offers more to athletes than what’s out on the market currently.

Kobe Bryant’s Muse airs on Showtime this November.
