Kyrie Irving Says It’ll Be Fun to Play with LeBron James at All-Star Game

When the NBA All-Star Draft went down, everyone wondered if LeBron James would select Kyrie Irving for his squad and when push came to shove, he did.

Fans and the media thought this could be another version of Russell Westbrook vs. Kevin Durant at All-Star, where tensions were at an all-time high. Especially since reports came out this week that Irving threatened to sit out the season with knee surgery if he didn’t get traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

That says a lot about how much he wanted to play with LeBron James in Cleveland.

He’s humming a different tune when he was asked about the upcoming event, saying that their championship team has a bond that can never be broken. Plus, that it’ll be fun to play with King James and Kevin Love like old times.

“It will be fun. All-Star weekend’s just an enjoyable experience. It’s a time for us as competitors to get together when we’re not necessarily with our teams and going against one another. It’s great to see the two captains choose who they felt were the best fit for their team, and I’m glad that I’m playing with a bunch of great players.”

He needs more people. That certainly sounds like a high-road answer when he feels the opposite. Of course, the two have been anything but petty in the media, besides the small social media jabs. In front of the camera, the two have said all of the right things, although you can tell they feel some sort of way.

We’ll see how it goes down on the court, though.
