He’s been quiet ever since LeBron James came to Los Angeles, but LaVar Ball is ready to start talking, especially with trade rumors swirling about his son.
With Anthony Davis at the center of trade packages to the Lakers, Lonzo Ball is one of the young names that has been mentioned going the other way to the New Orleans Pelicans. It has been reported that ‘Zo would rather not be in N.O. and prefers teams “without an established point guard” like the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks if he’s traded.
His pops has other thoughts, giving his two cents on the best team to ESPN.
“We want to be in L.A. But if he’s traded, I don’t want Lonzo in New Orleans. Phoenix is the best fit for him. And I am going to speak it into existence.”
It is yet to be determined whether or not the Pelicans would even trade AD before the deadline and who would be included in the deal. Will there be a third team involved if that scenario occurs? The jury is still out.
Either way, Ball remains sidelined with an ankle injury and does not control his own future.
