LeBron James Almost Had Carmelo Anthony & Paul George on the Cavaliers

The decision part 2. . .

Over the weekend, rumors circulated that the Cleveland Cavaliers were on the verge of making an unusual trade that involved Kyrie Irving to the Phoenix Suns. In exchange, the Cavaliers would’ve received Eric Bledsoe and Pacers superstar Paul George. However, the deal, which was presented to LeBron James, directly from owner Dan Gilbert was cancelled.

Allegedly, LeBron wouldn’t commit to staying past next season, as Dan didn’t want to go any higher over the luxury cap, if he would just lose all his talent for nothing in return. Reportedly, the two are not seeing eye-to-eye on the direction of the team; which was evident last February.

The King pleaded with the front office for a back-up playmaker, when he and Kyrie weren’t on the court. Well, another trade rumor emerged too this week, as Cleveland was on the verge of acquiring both Carmelo Anthony and Paul George, in a five-team blockbuster.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t find a taker for Kevin Love, who’s been viewed as the odd-man out this summer. At the moment, James is reluctant to sign a multi-year deal with the Cavs – or any team, which will likely hinder them from adding a major piece like PG13 or Melo.

With owner Gilbert ready to reshape the entire franchise, with a youth movement for the future, his second divorce with James could be messier than the original decision.
