LeBron James Issues Warning to LaVar Ball

That’s on mamas. . . .

Some of the most baffling interviews in not only sports, but the entire year, have been conducted by LaVar Ball. The father of UCLA guard Lonzo Ball, has said some of the most outlandish things this year, including being better than Michael Jordan and his son better than Steph Curry.

However, during a recent trip to Chris Broussard’s In the Zone podcast, Ball raised a few eye brows when discussing how children of star athletes are less likely to have better careers than their fathers. More so, bringing up sons of LeBron James who have verbal offers from Duke and Kentucky.

Ball went to say, “The monsters in the NBA, their dads wasn’t that good. They were OK, they was players, but the fact that the old (Dell) Curry wasn’t no All-Star, he wasn’t cold. He could shoot the ball, though. Kobe Bryant, his dad wasn’t all that, that’s why he’s such a monster.

You got LeBron, it’s going to be hard for his kids because they are going to look at them like, ‘You got to be just like your dad.’ And after a while, that pressure starts sitting on you like, ‘Why do I got to be just like him? What can’t I just be me?’ And then they are going to be like, ‘Aw, you’re soft, you’re not that good.’ Because the expectation is very, very high.”

Well regardless of the input for Bryce and LeBron James II, their dad spoke with ESPN Tuesday night and issued a fair warning to the greatest basketball player ever. The King said, “Keep my kids’ name out of your mouth. Keep my family out of your mouth, this is dad to dad. It’s a problem now. He can talk all about his brand, talk about his sons, talk about basketball, talk about me.

Well, with Lonzo wanting an alleged $1 billion marketing contract for his sons, we’re sure Nike will take into consideration the comments Mr. Ball has said about their marquee athlete.
