LeBron James Will Never Be A Member of the Los Angeles Clippers

All the speculation this offseason (well, a good bulk of it) has been about LeBron James and whether or not he’s leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers. Reports have come out from every outlet talking about how the King is leaving The Land in 2018 to pursue other endeavors outside of basketball. That or his internal beef with Dan Gilbert again.

While we wait on the verdict on that, the speculation has surrounded on which Los Angeles team he would join. The Lakers or the Clippers. Could he team up with his good friend Chris Paul and try to make a run at the Western Conference with Jerry West? Or would he join Magic Johnson and return the Lakers to glory? Who knows, at this point.

But one theory that could be put to silence, for now, is the one about him going to the Clips.

According to ESPN’s Mike Wise, that’s never going to happen. Never ever. He’s literally putting it to rest and burying that theory six feet under (if “sources” count for anything).

“I got from a very good authority, a very good authority, that LeBron James will never be a Clipper. I can’t tell you who, but I’m going to tell you it’s somebody that knows, and LeBron James will never be a Clipper. I don’t know if that’s because he remembers what the Clippers used to be, or he just doesn’t want to put his lot in there, or he thinks Steve Ballmer is just too animated on the sideline.

Whatever follicles Steve Ballmer has left—and he has more than me—they’re falling out right now. But he’s never going to be a Clipper.”

So there you have it. The non-existant Clippers legacy will deter King James from ever putting on a red and white jersey in the city of Los Angeles. Allegedly.
