At the time of writing this, Lonzo Ball is not a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. He is not under contract by any NBA team (or big shoe company either). LeBron James is still a part of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Everything about what is happening in the video is very much fantasy with some projected truth.
During an interview with SC6 with Michael Smith and Jemele Hill, Lonzo was asked who his favorite team in NBA 2K was and that led to the hypothetical questions that end up with Lonzo asking King James to come to L.A. and play with him on the same squad.
“Hey man, LeBron. I like to win and I know you like to win. I think our games can help each other out a lot. Anytime you want the ball, let me know. It’s gonna be there, you know?”
So if we’re keeping things hypothetical: let’s just say the Lakers trade the draft pick for Paul George? Or imagine a world where Mr. James goes to the other L.A. team because of Jerry West and how he constructed a better roster to win in the Western Conference? Then this becomes the most irrelevant segment of all time. But it’s all fun and games, at the end of the day.
Lonzo also spoke to SC6 about his Laker workouts, how he wants to lead a squad once he gets to the NBA, if he’s better than De’Aaron Fox, and what he’s going to be wearing at the draft.
