LeBron James Will NOT Waive No-Trade Clause after Kyrie Irving Controversy

Los Angeles Summer Eighteen. . . .

With LeBron James and Dan Gilbert officially having issues behind-the-scenes, regarding the direction of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kyrie Irving revealed last week or before a non-coincidental leak from a fellow superstar’s camp on the team that he no longer wants to play with the King.

This shocked the entire NBA world, as the Cavs were blindsided by this public reveal – meaning the closer of the team no longer wants to play in the land. Kyrie is looking out for his future and doesn’t want to be left with an empty team (again) after James leaves after next season.

Well, this immediately began to spark rumors of LeBron potentially leaving the team as well, including some of us here expecting a mid-season trade for James to a western conference team in purple and gold. However, ESPN’s Chris Haynes, has confirmed that James will not waive his no-trade clause or request a trade from the team; as he’ll be committed to the Cavs for this season.

Next summer, LeBron will be able to opt-out of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent – which will likely be his second divorce and final Cleveland exit. All of this could’ve been avoided if Gilbert never intervened with the team and opened up his check book for now fired GM, David Griffin, to acquire both Paul George and Jimmy Butler (or other superstars).

So, at the moment, James plans to play with whoever is on the roster this fall and will likely leave the team next summer for the Los Angeles Lakers. Losing the King for nothing again is a tough pill Dan Gilbert will have to swallow in 2018 (hilarious on LeBron’s part), as he’ll be closely monitoring Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and friend Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
