The Los Angeles Lakers may have landed Lebron James in the offseason but they’re not done constructing a competitive team around him to help contend in the Western Conference. Many of the young pieces have been linked to trades because many think the Lake Show should just traded away the farm to land Kawhi Leonard and pair him with the king.
Though there have been some reports of Kyle Kuzma and/or Brandon Ingram being untouchable, Lonzo Ball was one that could be expendable if it came down to it.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, it seems as if the Ball camp leaked the news of Zo’s meniscus tear to diminish his value on the market.
Pair that with the disses at Kuzma and the general circus around LaVar Ball and you can see why they would put that out there so he could stay in Los Angeles to play with King James. Especially if his name is being thrown around in scenarios involving trades.
As you’d assume, the Lakers are not very happy the news leaked because they were trying to keep that a secret from teams.
It’ll be interesting how this thing plays out.
