Los Angeles Lakers Summer League 2018 Showcases LeBron James’ New Shooters

#LakeShow Summer Eighteen

With the Los Angeles Lakers looking to stand-pat with the young movement around their new captain LeBron James, it looks like they have a few immediate call ups from the summer league. Much like Kobe Bryant is saying, we believe development for younger players on the team like Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram will be speed up – thanks to King James.

As the team drifts away from possible trades for now, a few draft picks and a returning player are turning a few heads this summer league. It’s likely that Josh Hart will be the first of these three to make the main roster. However, the team struck gold last month drafting international (as well as seasoned college) players Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk and Moritz Wagner.

From initial scout reviews, many are already comparing Mykhailiuk to Klay Thompson, which wouldn’t be a stretch on the offensive end. Our personal favorite of the three is Wagner from Michigan University, who’s a rare two-way big man.

With an outside jump shot and defense awareness, the 25th overall pick in the first-round is somebody to keep notes on. While the level of competition is nowhere near the play of the main stage, we’re sure LeBron and his coaching staff is monitoring these players very closely.

Take a look at the three stand-out performers below.
