Earlier this summer, it was reported that Marcus Smart was “disgusted” with negotiations concerning a new deal with the Boston Celtics. Apparently, he was asking for a bit more than the C’s were willing to pay and felt slighted.
Looks like the two sides have worked out their differences because they have agreed on a new 4-year deal worth $52 million.

Smart played a big part of the Celtics season last year, playing sweltering defense and bringing a ton of energy off the bench. This was obvious when Kyrie Irving went out with an injury late in the season and in the playoffs, as Boston made a run to the Eastern Conference Finals.
He was an integral piece that should have a place on the young squad moving forward, considering the Celtics play their best defense when he’s on the floor.
Boston is considered a lock to win the East next season.
