Markelle Fultz Is Out For the Rest of NBA Summer League with Ankle Injury

It took all but two NBA Summer League games for the Philadelphia 76ers to suffer an injury to their first round pick. Luckily for them, it’s nothing serious where he will be out for the year, but Markelle Fultz is for sure out for the rest of Summer League.

The injury happened a few days ago against the Golden State Warriors, where he landed awkward on his ankle and immediately went to the floor to grab it.

The Sixers have given an update on his injury and said he had x-rays and they came back negative. Fultz suffered a lateral ankle sprain and will be out for the next two weeks for precaution, but will resume basketball activities following that.

Philly fans can let out a sigh of relief, because their lottery picks are known to suffer injuries their first season and not play for that year. Hopefully this isn’t a nagging injury for Fultz and he can see the court for the start of the 2017-2018 season.
