Mexico Shocks Germany With 1-0 World Cup Win

After today, you better put some RESPEK on Mexico’s national team.

Nobody expected the team to pull out a win against the defending champions, but when it was all said and done, the group of death was turned upside down with the Mexicans getting the W. There’s been some good matches across the World Cup so far, but this game between Germany and Mexico is at the top of the list.

It’s also one of the most shocking results of the tournament up to this point.

There was only one goal scored throughout the 90 minutes of play, but plenty of opportunities and shots from both sides.

Young up and comer Irving Lozano put Mexico up 1-0 in the 34th minute when he pulled off an incredible move against Mesut Ozil, getting the ball in the back of the net. It was a complete shocker, but it gave the Mexicans confidence to keep attacking against the Germans.

In what felt like more than a handful of opportunities, Mexico counter attacked in what were obvious mismatches, but couldn’t follow through with the finish.

Either Chicharrito would pass the ball too wide on a two-on-one attack, or the shots would go over the bar and too wide to be on target.

Mexico now sits at the top of Group F as they have a greater chance to advance to the knockout stage if they can seal another win against Korea Republic and/or Sweden in the coming days.

Either way, it’s an incredible win for EL Tri.
