NBA Announces 2018-2019 Opening Week Matchups

We’re all the way ready for the NBA season to start, especially because plenty of story lines are on deck for the 2018-2019 season.

After the Christmas Day matchups leaked last night, the NBA has officially announced those lineups as well opening week games taking place October 16-21. 11 national televised games will air on TNT, ESPN and NBA TV that week, including two doubleheaders on TNT and ESPN within the first few days.

As you can see from the schedule below, the Sixers vs. Celtics matchup will go down as the first matchup of the year, as well as Christmas Day.

Other big games from the first week include OKC vs. Golden State, Lakers vs. Blazers, Celtics vs. Raptors, and Rockets vs. Lakers in L.A.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Boston Celtics (8:00pm EST, TNT)
Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Golden State Warriors (10:30pm EST, TNT)

Oct. 17
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Houston Rockets (8:00pm EST, ESPN)
Dallas Mavericks vs. Phoenix Suns (10:30pm EST, ESPN)

Oct. 18
Chicago Bulls vs. Philadelphia 76ers (8:00pm EST, TNT)
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Portland Trail Blazers (10:30pm EST, TNT)

Oct. 19
Boston Celtics vs. Toronto Raptors (8:00pm EST, ESPN)
Golden State Warriors vs. Utah Jazz (10:30pm EST, ESPN)

Oct. 20
Toronto Raptors vs. Washington Wizards (7:00pm EST, NBA TV)
Houston Rockets vs. Los Angeles Lakers (10:30pm EST, ESPN)

Oct. 21
Houston Rockets vs. LA Clippers (9:00pm EST, NBA TV)

The NBA kind of lost not scheduling the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors opening week or Sixers vs. Phoenix Suns (Joel Embiid vs. DeAndre Ayton).
