After pouring his blood, sweat and tears into the New York Knicks for 10 years, the organization is banning the Charles Oakley from Madison Square Garden.

In a talk with The Michael Kay Show on ESPN New York 98.7 FM, owner James Dolan spoke on the situation and hasn’t budged from what he said a few days ago. He said Oakley needs help and while it may not necessarily be a lifetime ban, he needs to keep MSG “a place that’s comfortable and safe.” He’s mentioned that from the beginning, the longtime power forward came with an agenda and stormed into the arena, being verbally abusive to everyone around him.

Frank Benedetto, senior vice president for security of MSG was fired because of the incident as well.

Charles is set to hold a press conference next week to speak on all of this, but sent out a message on Twitter to New York City and fans, saying he loves them all.
