PSG have agreed a record-breaking fee of $263 million for the transfer of Neymar from Barcelona. The five-year deal, costing a total of $595 million (including clause/wages/bonuses), will see the Brazilian player earn $35 million a year after taxes.
The 25-year old told coach Ernesto Valverde that he wanted to leave this morning at the club’s training center. After informing teammates of his decision, he and his father Pini Zahavi (also his agent) met with club president Josep Maria Bartomeu for a meeting. Neymar will travel to Paris in the next two days to finalize the move.
To put it in perspective, Neymar’s value is $119 million higher than Cleveland Cavaliers’ team payroll for the next season (most expensive in NBA) and $84 million higher than Washington Redskins’ payroll (most expensive in NFL).
