New York Giants and Odell Beckham Agree to 5-Year, $95M Extension

The standoff between the New York Giants and Odell Beckham Jr. has come to an end as the two sides have finally agreed to a 5-year extension worth a reported $95 million dollars. The deal also includes $65 million in guaranteed money, making him the highest paid receiver in the NFL. The Giants have saved $3 million in cap room this season, as the 3-time Pro Bowler has restructured his salary for the 2018 season to be $1.459 million with a $20 million signing bonus.

Beckham Jr. skipped some of the team’s voluntary workouts earlier in the season and the Giants were always interested in signing him for the long term, but both sides were still apart on a number for the contract, until now.

Considering his production on the field (he was the fastest to 200 receptions and 300 yards in NFL history), it is a no brainer for the G-Men to lock him in until 2023.

Even with his off-the-field controversy and on field tantrums, it’s safe to say he’s one of the best receivers in the league. Now he just secured the bag.
