Oklahoma City Thunder Trade For Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott

NBA: Chicago Bulls at Phoenix Suns

After losing Enes Kanter for a while due to injury, the Oklahoma City Thunder made a play at the NBA trade deadline to boost their front court and get back to their playoff contending ways.

The Chicago Bulls have parted ways with veteran Taj Gibson and young Doug McDermott and a 2018 second round draft pick, in exchange for Cameron Payne, Joffrey Lauvergne and Anthony Morrow.

The Thunder have been in need of a spot up shooter in recent years and hope Dougie McBuckets can bring the firepower to help the squad. With Gibson, they also bring in a locker room leader who will be fierce in the paint and play hard just like Russell Westbrook. On the bad side, Taj is a unrestricted free agent this summer, so hopefully OKC can convince him to stick around.

Unfortunately for Russ, he loses his dancing partner, Payne.
