Panthers Trade Kelvin Benjamin To Bills for 2 Draft Picks

In what seems like news from out of the blue, the Carolina Panthers have sent their No. 1 receiver Kelvin Benjamin to the Buffalo Bills in a trade for a third and a seventh-round pick in the 2018 draft.

This move strengthens the wide receiver corps in Buffalo to help Tyrod Taylor, but also makes the Panthers thinner at the position.

At the moment, tight end Charles Clay leads the Bills in receiving.

It remains to be seen why Carolina would make this move, because they sit at 5-3 this season with a good chance of making the playoffs. Eliminating their top wide out to give Cam Newton less weapons (with Greg Olsen already out) is a little head scratching.
