The 76ers Have An Explanation for Those Markelle Fultz Shooting Woes

All the talk surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers has been how good Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid have been playing. What about their No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, though?

Markelle Fultz has been getting some criticism, mostly because of the way he’s been shooting lately. His numbers to start the season look horrible. He hasn’t taken a 3-point shot and has shot 9-27 from the field, but none of those shots have come from mid-range. They’ve all come from inside or near the paint.

Just look how Fultz shoots a goddamn free throw right now.

Initial reports said that his shoulder had been drained of fluid. Then it came out that he had been given a cortizone shot to alleviate pain and inflammation. Not to mention the fact that he couldn’t raise his arms up to even take a shot. Now, after all the speculation, the Sixers have announced he will miss the next three games with right shoulder soreness.

For a team who is so used shutting down high first round draft picks due to injury, it’s a mystery why they let Markelle play if he had trouble. Fultz will argue he was playing through the pain, but Philadelphia is way too cautious to let that happen under their watch.

At least his play is being overshadowed by the fact Simmons and Embiid are going off. The Process continues and the team isn’t looking too bad right now.

Whether he fixed his shooting motion or is hurt, something needs to get fixed.
