Ray Allen Opens Up About Boston Celtics, Championships on ESPN

While out at the Super Penguin Basketball Celebrity Game in Shanghai, Ray Allen sat down with ESPN China to talk to Tencent’s Lisa Hsu about some things that have been swirling in the media lately. This interview probably stems from that Boston Celtics reunion on Area 21 on TNT, where Kevin Garnett brought Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Kendrick Perkins and Big Baby Davis to talk about old times, championships and people hopping ship.

In this interview, Allen talks about his decision to leave the Celtics for the Heat and why he made it for his best interest. He says he has no ill will towards any one of his previous teammates and it was merely a basketball decision he made as a free agent.

He argues that there’s no loyalty in sports and how much of a double standard there is between players and franchises when it comes to trading. Of course, when a team trades certain players it’s always looked at as a business move, while when a player leaves for more money, it’s always a snake move.

Peep what he said in the interview up top.
