Russell Westbrook Drops 32 Points in Season Debut Against the Kings

One of our favorite players in the NBA made his NBA season debut last night, but it was in a loss to a presumably bad team in the Sacramento Kings.

After mid-September arthroscopic knee surgery, Russell Westbrook took the court for the Oklahoma City Thunder and played like he never left or had injury. He was giving it 110%, driving to the hoop with no fear, diving for basketball as they went out of bounds and playing like the monster that he is.

He finished the game with 32 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists, two shy of a triple double, but the Thunder fall to 0-3 on the year.

Thought it might take some time for the team to get back into the groove with Westbrook in the lineup, it doesn’t look good for OKC, who are assumed to be a playoff contender in the Western Conference. It’s still early in the season, though.
