Russell Westbrook Notches Triple-Double in 2017 OKC Thunder Debut

Last year, Russell Westbrook was a beast. He averaged a triple double for the season and won the MVP Award for his game. So, what happens when you add Paul George and Carmelo Anthony to your team? You keep averaging triple doubles, of course.

Tonight in his debut with the Oklahoma City Thunder, he put up 21 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds. You know, light work.

And how did his new teammates do? PG13 dropped 28 points and notched 6 rebounds on the night, while Hoodie ‘Melo had 22 points and not much of anything else.

Considering they played the New York Knicks, this win has to be bittersweet for Anthony.

Now that it’s Kristaps Porzingis team, we can tell. He carried KNICKSTAPE on his back, scoring a double-double with 31 points and 12 rebounds on the night. Nobody else was in double digits in scoring besides Enes Kanter, who had 10 points.

Are the Thunder a real contender in the Western Conference, though?
