Kyrie to the borough
Last week, Kyrie Irving formally parted ways with his long-time manager and signed with JAY-Z’s Roc Nation Sports. For whatever reason, some believe he’s going to partner up with LeBron James in Los Angeles; but he doesn’t want to play again with that dude.
The same can be said for Jimmy Butler, who’s expected to no re-sign a max-deal with the Philadelphia 76ers on request by Joel Embiid. Kyrie’s former agent, Jeff Wechsler, had a close relationship with the Boston Celtics; so we were under the impression that he wasn’t going anywhere.
Under JAY-Z, Roc Nation is a New York-based company, as the bulk of their stars play in the Big Apple. Just a few weeks ago, Kyrie purchased a house in New Jersey for the big move.
However, last year, Danny Ainge was trying to pursue Kawhi Leonard from the San Antonio Spurs and offered up Kyrie in trade talks. This caused an initial fallout with Kyrie and management, after the team had just made a deep playoff run with role players.
Throughout the 2019 season, Jaylen Brown and Terry Rozier were vocal about their displeasure with losing minutes to Kyrie; which caused a friction in the locker room (bench players talking like starters, I hate it – Drake).
The entire year was blamed on Irving, who was only trying to show a group of talented kids how to win a championship. Considering the trust was lost, Kyrie’s new situation with the Brooklyn Nets is on the verge of happening; as JAY-Z is ensuring his family at Barclays will make Kyrie the face of the franchise.
ESPN even clout chased jumped the gun, discussing the pending deal before news spreads behind-the-scenes this week.
