Thibs receives $10 million annually from Minny

Last year, the Chicago Bulls wrongfully fired head coach Tom Thibodeau, in an attempt to revive their offense for the 2016 season. However, Fred Hoiberg’s inability to connect with the players, including Jimmy Butler calling out the team numerous times, as well as himself, was not enough for the team to make the playoffs. Today, the Minnesota Timberwolves have hired the disgruntled second best coach in the league and have given him complete control in team roster decisions.

Thibs new deal with Minny gives him $10 million annually over the next five years, which we’re sure will be re-upped before its completion (if he helps develop the young core of stars). Wolves owner, Glen Taylor hand-picked Tom this off-season, as he expects the careers of Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine to progress in the coming years.

Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson were also options, but the T-Wolves are now a team to look out for in 2017 – especially with an imminent top 5 next month’s NBA Draft lottery awaiting.
