Jones is out of action until July 2017

For the second time in two years, Jon Jones has been stripped of the UFC L.H. Title. The former face of the MMA brand has only fought once in the octagon over the last 22 months, and reached a career low when he tested positive for banned substances, three days before his unification fight against Daniel Cormier. The U.S.D.A. would soon hand him a year-long suspension in July, but awkwardly cited how the drug wasn’t a prohibited substance – revealing it wouldn’t increase his performance in the sport, but an erectile dysfunction enhancer for other activities.

At the age of 29, Jones has just career loss in UFC and will be eligible to fight again, next July 2017. Company President, Dana White said, “He was the interim champion because he should have been fighting for the title in April. We gave him this, ‘You were supposed to fight for the title. Here it is.’ It doesn’t make sense with all the stuff that is going on for him to still be the interim champion.”
