Is Raw in Cleveland, Ohio tonight?

With WWE set to announce the Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg Survivor Series match later today on ESPN, some bizarre news in the wrestling world has surfaced. TNA Impact Wrestling has now been sold to Billy Corgan (yes, that Billy Corgan, from the The Smashing Pumpkins), who’s now taken over as majority company owner. Monday night, before the latest taping of IMPACT Wrestling, Dixie Carter addressed the locker room – revealing the sale and her exit from the company.

However, the big news from new management in Tennessee, is Vince McMahon officially purchasing the video library of TNA Wrestling. Under the deal with Vince and WWE, Corgan sells the complete video library of TNA Wrestling from year’s past, which will soon appear on the WWE Network, alongside past content from ECW, WCW and now GFW.

It’s unknown when the exact re-branding for Impact will take place, but now it’s safe to say that there’s only one major wrestling company in the states for the time being.
