Warriors Add Depth with Acquisition of David West

Welcome to high-end rent, David West!

Our biggest concert heading forward for the Golden State Warriors was the lack of depth in their front-court position. After losing Andrew Bogut, their defensive anchor in the middle yesterday, we were still skeptical whether or not they would be able to land a player this summer.

However, Steve Kerr and the management of the team looked deep into this year’s free agent and found a diamond in the rough – with the acquisition of David West. This comes just hours after landing starting center, Zaza Pachulia, which made fellow team owners irate with Mark Cuban.

The former 2-time all-star brings physicality, high-IQ and front-court passing to a team who was desperately in need of finding somebody just a few hours ago. At the age of 35, we’re not sure how Big Dave will be able to hold up on major minutes with this fast-paced collective, but he’ll be needed to stretch the floor with his mid-range game for Kevin Durant and the Splash Bros.

After spending just one year with the San Antonio Spurs last season (on a reduced role), West is looking to cap off his 13-year career with a Larry O’Brien trophy; which looks favorable if the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeGM don’t agree to terms with that guy down in South Beach.

Let us know in the comments what you think of this acquisition.
