Microsoft Says Xbox Scorpio Isn’t a “Half-Ass Upgrade” Like PlayStation 4 Pro

The Scorpio is allegedly 4.5 times as a powerful as the Xbox One

This week, information surfaced regarding Microsoft Xbox Scorpio console, reconfirming that it would indeed have a six teraflop GPU. The device is set to also have for times the L2 cache and an entirely different RAM architecture than the current Xbox One console.

We’re just fearful of the Scorpio costing consumers more than $500, as Xbox head Phil Spencer has been avoiding all questions pertaining to his premium product. Thomas Mahler of MS Studios conducted a recent interview, answering questions whether or not the Scorpio was just a console upgrade like Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro – or even an entirely new generation release.

He went to say, “Scorpio isn’t just a half-assed upgrade (which the PS4 Pro kinda is), but a full blown next-gen machine that’s just backwards-compatible to your current library.”

Well, with these remarks, Mahler has surprisingly raised our interest for the product that will be unveiled this summer. We’re really not interested in 4K to be honest, because of how pointless the resolution is without having a standardized 60-frames-per-second rule.
