This afternoon, Sony held their PlayStation Meeting in NYC to unveil their long-awaited high-end PS4 Pro console. However, before gamers were wooed with first ever footage of HDR of the Pro system, Sony announced that the PS4 brand would be seeing a slimmer model.
In fact, within the next 7 days, the official PlayStation 4 Slim will be hitting retailers and online stores. Beginning this September 15th for $299, the new slimmer model will replace the current PS4 model, which is now discontinued after the event today.
The slim features a slimmer, lighter, more energy efficient console and will also be up-gradable to have HDR gaming capabilities after the next firmware update arrives later this month.
